Yoga Food

As part of Yoga Philosophy it is important that we have healthy lifestyle so it is important that a serious yogi stays away from the following:

  • Artificial, processed and junk foods
  • Canned food, except naturally canned fruits and tomatoes
  • Factory farm dairy products
  • Garlic, onions and over-spiced food
  • Fried food
  • White sugar and white flour
  • Artificial sweeteners
  • Old, stale reheated food
  • Alcohol, tobacco and other stimulants
  • Artificial beverages
  • Microwaved and irradiated food
  • Genetically engineered food 
  • All kinds of Meat, Fish and Eggs

  

Also the debate about Organic, Natural Foods and Home grown, Pesticide free foods versus conventional store bought is also a issue that an individual should consider.

As far as food intake s considered following a routine and eating freshly cooked food with more intake of fruits and vegetables is the guideline a yogi should follow.
